I am so pleased and proud of the success we have accomplished this year with the talented and
dedicated team of people we have assembled. I feel it has truly been a breakthrough year for Payne Racing, having achieved our goal to finish every mile of every race and be on the podium. This was accomplished with a strong, united effort to optimize every advantage and strengthen every deficiency, striving together to be the best we can be at everything we do and enjoying the process along the way. But it doesn’t stop there! Looking ahead to 2026, we will be focusing on taking our success to the next level by working towards class wins with overall finish positions well up in the overall field – and I couldn’t be more excited!

After stepping away from competition for nearly 30 years, he returned to the sport in 2011 through harescrambles and enduro racing, ultimately capturing second overall at the National Enduro 50+ category in 2017.
In 2018, he set his sights on Baja, progressing methodically from a Baja Challenge car to a Razor, then Trophy Lite, Trophy Spec, and eventually a Mason 4WD truck. Each step reflected his commitment to learning the terrain, building relationships, and sharpening his craft. Today, he is fully invested in Payne Racing, competing in four Baja races annually and continuing to push for more every time he lines up.
